Meals of Hope – Kids Against Hunger Event
Kids Against Hunger is a food-packaging program that will be added to this year's conference for the purpose of engaging attendees in serving the local community and building teamwork.
Kids Against Hunger is an international organization. They provide community involved food-packaging events for all ages to participate from 3 years old to 80+. This is Quality Team-Building Time. You will be involved in a memorable and rewarding event as you serve the recipients.
In two hours, 100 people can package 35,000-40,000 meals. The food donations will be distributed to local Georgia agencies for needy children and their families. The packaged meals consist of five dry ingredients: beans, rice, vegetables, soy protein, vitamins/minerals. All measured ingredients are placed into a plastic bag through a funnel; then the bags are weighed, sealed, and placed in boxes. After completion of the event, boxes are placed into a truck for distribution. Each team can have 9-10 people for maximum speed, but fewer can make it happen too. In addition to the teams, runners will need to be available to replenish ingredients as each team runs low of items.
Make plans now to join GaETC at the conference for this very worthwhile cause!
